While I agree that Venom is popular, I don’t think that him having an easy time selling means Jeff wouldn’t. That little shark is essentially the mascot of the game, and one of the characters that gets the most skins for that reason. Hot Toys has an entire line of Jeff keychain plushes, and their Cosbi line for Rivals consists of 9 figures, 4 of which are different Jeffs. Not to mention there’s a market for indie Jeff figures like this one, this one, this one or this one (not trying to aggressively drive the point home, I just think these are neat lol). He’s crazy popular.
With enough effort, Jeff could easily have been a stand-alone release. And Hasbro could’ve justified the cost via retoolings. Some of Jeff’s skins like Business Shark or Maid to Chomp could be made using soft overlays:
For real, Jeff has transcended comics. My wife’s bestie just got a tattoo of him, and doesn’t really read comics. He’s way bigger than mainly comic based fans might realize.

Hopefully. I mainly collect cinematic McFarlane DC. Hoping for a re-issue of the Uma Thurman Ivy. I did pick up the 89 “Nicholson like” joker. He will work well enough probably as good as I will get too.
I am not sure. Spidey sells. And when you couple his mainstream appeal with the saturation of Rivals? I feel he will probably sell better than Luna if they were separate. I do think Rivals will have increased Luna’s Visibility.
And with Thanos/Psylocke? I think there are always people (like myself) who do not have a certain character. I didn’t have a Thanos. So that 2 pack suited me. But I also understand if someone already has a Thanos. They then have to figure out how to offload a figure they have no need of. (and that would have been me with that punisher/warjournal 2 pack with Bushwhacker). You can probably go on E-bay now and find a ton of Gamerverse Thanos. But I feel that will be less of an issue with this particular 2 pack. Spidey is popular regardless of where he has come from. And I could see people wanting to snap up just spidey.
I disagree that Spidey will be the more popular character in that two pack. eBay will be the ultimate judge.
On Uma Poison Ivy, there is another Uma Poison Ivy coming. No one knows what it will be. Some hope for some kind of re-release. Others hope for the longer dress costume she wears during the movie.

But as @tarot noted Hasbro is a business. And I feel the reason why Jeff isn’t getting the articulation he should have (imo). It looks like they did a lot of new sculpt/tooling on Venom. It feels like that is where the money went in this 2 pack because Venom is certainly going to have a easier time selling. What I wonder is if that tail has a bendy wire at all?The reason why Zabu or even Cosmo are articulated is because the cost for them were spread out over a BAF wave where someone has to buy the other figures in the wave to build that figure. That is the whole point behind BAF’s and it’s also why we see certain BAF waves like that Totally awesome Hulk wave or the executioner wave have characters like Iron Man or Wolverine that came without a BAF part. I bought WWII Logan and he didn’t have a executioner part.

and this is action figures. You are looking at it from a collector. You aren’t looking at it as a business. She is obscure and wouldn’t sell on her own. MOST game fans don’t collect figures. This is to bring them into it. Spider-man sells. Luna Doesn’t. simple. as. that.
I would say it probably depends. Gamers collect too, and I think that is why we are seeing more and more lines putting out gamer centric figures.McFarlane for example…just relased his Elite line with Doom Slayer, Lilith and Arthas.
You have 3rd parties making a bunch of Warcraft flavored figures. I mean it’s hard for gamers to buy figures when mainstream companies aren’t making them. McFarlane was making static posed statuettes of warcraft “classes” Not the characters people actually want. I know you said most. But there is still a market/demand for game figures.
Which to your point? Yes. 100% that is why Hasbro packages certain characters with others. You are correct that Spidey will sell. He is the perennial mover that is almost always guaranteed to sell and sell well. Same with Wolverine and Batman (for DC).And Luna I agree would probably be too obscure to sell on her own. That said? I feel like the game will have increased her visibility in the way the MCU did for Cap/Iron Man.

A classic Poison Ivy has been on McFarlane leak lists for a while. Expect to see her this year.
On the releases today, who puts bayonets on an Uzi? Not that I would use the uzis over the swords anyway for Lady Deadpool. But how silly.

I disagree with the other poster and agree with you.
This is a classic hostage two pack. A Spidey that would have trouble selling is holding another character hostage. It’s an almost direct repeat of what we saw with the X-Men ’97 two packs (basketball Gambit, anyone?) and Thanos and Psylocke.
It’s highly unlikely you will recover 50% of the cost selling this weird Spider-Man. But I bet you will recover 50% or more of the cost if you sell Luna out of this pack.

I’m gonna wait for the Blokees release, which will actually have articulated limbs:
You aren’t the only one. A lot of people on the Legends subreddit are disappointed. They pointed to other figures as examples of Hasbro having articulated creatures.
Their own Classified line.Zabu BAFCosmo BAFLockjawBut as @tarotnoted Hasbro is a business. And I feel the reason why Jeff isn’t getting the articulation he should have (imo). They knew that people would buy Wolverine regardless of a part or not. The parts exist to sell the obscure figures. Lockjaw was in a pricey 2 pack that almost felt essential because of Crystal and the Inhumans. And Crystal was mostly reuse with a few new things. To that end and to piggyback off what @jscottt991was talking about? I feel like the Rivals wave would probably have been more beneficial to all if Jeff were a build a figure. Split Luna from Spider-Man, put a head with Luna. A leg a piece with Venom, Punisher, Moon Knight, etc. Something like that. You then satisfy folks that only want Luna. While also giving folks a reason to invest into a new line if they want to complete Jeff.

Glad to see Lady Deadpool getting super articulated female body, and hopefully it will be new norm for the majority of the upcoming female figures.
Punisher body looks great on USAgent but that costume is something I can live without but we can hope for more classic look down the line that should look amazing.
Rival figures look promising but Spidey with just simple cut waist is pretty underwhelming to see.
I wondered if she did. I only had seen fuzzy pics. But I was happy when someone told me she has the better body.I ordered Lady Deadpool and 2x of Outback Psylocke.
Maybe we get an updated Black Cat now finally with Rivals adding Cat.In the meantime I made a Cat custom…or two…

Idk, I see stuff pre-sold out on EE all the time. Pulse is the same. And on Amazon it won’t sell out, but the price will go to 29, then into the 30s and keep going up. I know for every one that does that, there are 5 that go right to discount never to go back to the msrp. And yeah, 2-4 of these will for sure be on clearance by Christmas. But I was saying, I didn’t want to wait and gamble. I’ve been wanting to set up Alpha Flight for a loooong time.
You Are right though, if you’re patient it usually does pay off. And Im personally chagrined pretty often by My “must haves” ending up as 17 dollar or Ollie’s figures. especially since the figure is extremely lackluster. It’s always a debate for sure though.
Or there’s the figures you want but never get around to, thinking that they’ll be around, only for them to ‘not be around’ and then ending up tripple the price on ebay. Sigh…but yes, t’is part of the game, lol.
