Read below for our spoiler-heavy review:
The episode opens with flashback of Matt Murdock and Karen Page enjoying a quiet date night. This moment is abruptly interrupted as the scene transitions back to the present, where Karen is in court awaiting Matts arrival. Having been shot in the previous episode, Matt remains at The Punishers hideout, where Jessica Jones tends to his injuries. He expresses surprise at her return and asserts his belief that Wilson Fisk will not kill Karen until he has confronted Daredevil directly.
Elsewhere, Buck provides Fisk with an update on Daniel. Fisk reflects on the burden of leadership, stating that his grief has not compromised his judgment. Upon learning that Matt survived the attack, he instructs Buck to proceed with the next phase of their plan.
Back in the courtroom, Heather testifies and characterizes Karen as a sociopath. Her testimony is interrupted by Matts arrival, and he successfully objects to her statements on Karen. At the request of District Attorney Hochberg, Heather reads an excerpt from her book, Men in Masks, which explores vigilante psychology and posits that a vigilantes true identity is revealed through the mask rather than concealed by it. Under questioning from McDuffie, Heather denies striking Karen. As she prepares to leave, Matt poses a final question regarding whether a vigilante requires a mask. She suggests that Karen hid behind Daredevils identity, and he accuses Heather of similarly aligning herself with Fisk.
Across the street, an AVTF officer disguised as Bullseye prepares a sniper rifle, aiming at the courthouse entrance while additional officers secure the perimeter under mayoral orders. Back in the courtroom, Matt calls Fisk to testify. With AVTF personnel on guard, Fisk begins by asserting his respect for the rule of law. Matts cross-examination quickly becomes confrontational. Meanwhile, the real Bullseye arrives, eliminates the imposter, and assumes his position.
Matt proceeds to question Fisk about the Safer Streets Act, challenging its effectiveness. Although Fisk responds with statistical claims, Matts attempts to address unlawful detentions are repeatedly overruled. He then shifts focus to the Northern Star, alleging its involvement in arms smuggling. Despite initial objections, Matt introduces new evidence in the form of Christofis recorded testimony, prompting judicial review.
Following deliberation, the court permits the testimony to be played. The recording confirms that the Northern Star was transporting illegal weapons and that its captain, acting under Fisks orders, intentionally sank the vessel, clearing Daredevil of wrongdoing. Matt continues his questioning, methodically building his case, ultimately leading to a dramatic revelation: he declares Im Daredevil. He then proves his abilities by bouncing his cane around the room and catching it, shocking the room.
Seizing the momentum, Matt delivers a comprehensive indictment of Fisks actions, arguing that the Safer Streets Initiative was a vehicle for criminal activity. The judge concurs with his assessment, concluding that Karens alleged crimes fall outside the courts jurisdiction. The case is dismissed with prejudice, marking a decisive legal victory.
However, tensions remain high. Fisk is immediately confronted with multiple charges, including racketeering and corruption, as his assets are seized and his operations dismantled. Outside the courthouse, Bullseye attempts to shoot Fisk, but Buck intervenes and is critically wounded. The situation escalates as Fisk takes refuge in the building and declares a state of emergency, framing the incident as an attack on the city. In response, journalist BB broadcasts evidence exposing the AVTFs abuses, galvanizing public opposition. Citizens, many wearing Daredevil masks, converge on the courthouse in protest. Cherry and Brett Mahoney are there leading the crowd.
Officer Powell tells Cole that Cherry and Brett dont belong. He orders Cole to shoot Brett. Angela arrives with her White Tiger amulet, demanding the truth about Hector. Powell claims Hector was a cop-killer, but Soledad disagrees. Cole refuses Powell’s order, so Powell tries to shoot Brett himself. Cole knocks Powell out, then allows the crowd into the courthouse. As the crowd breaches the building, chaos erupts. Daredevil and Jessica fight their way through the courthouse, while Karen actively defends herself against AVTF officers.
Fisk is offered a deal, if he renounces his citizenship and goes into exile, he wont be prosecuted. He refuses and confronts the protestors directly. He proceeds to physically dominate the crowd in an attempt to assert control. But despite his best efforts, he is ultimately overwhelmed by the crowd.
Matt intervenes, preventing further harm, and confronts Fisk one final time. Rather than seeking retribution, he offers Fisk an opportunity for resolution and peace. After initial resistance, Fisk reluctantly concedes, taking the deal.
In the aftermath, calm returns to the city. Matt and Karen share a quiet moment, reflecting on the ordeal. This resolution is short-lived, however, as Matt is subsequently arrested for his actions as Daredevil, which he accepts without resistance.
The closing sequences provide glimpses into the future: Jessica resumes her work at Alias Investigations alongside a returning Luke Cage; Mr. Charles (now Robertson) has found Lukes replacement and its Bullseye; BB takes a job at her uncles paper and receives a box of his clippings; and Heather appears to embrace a darker path by donning Muses mask; Daredevil and Kingpins arcs conclude with Matt in prison, sharing confinement with former AVTF officers, while Fisk lives in exile, stripped of power.
The episode ends on a final contemplative note, with Matt, seemingly, accepting the consequences of his actions, smiling as the cell door closes.
Havn’t watched the recent episode, but one thing I do truly wish is that the next season we can get a new villain, as much as I love the DD/Kingpin war, and really think Vincent is so stand out as Wilson, I am growing a bit tired of the dynamic, and think it would be really great to move on, How about Mister Fear, how about Coyote? I’d like to see him face off against a less political foe.
I hear the rumour is after Season 3 they will conclude Born again with potentially a feature film. So make it big.

so will someone’s nanny show up eventually?
I don’t know about a nanny, but I personally think Mr. Charles is going to meet his end at the hands of that child’s father.

I never really cared for the Kingpin/Vanessa plotline, so good riddance. Weird that they’re humanizing all these villains, giving them all these sweetheart moments, but then only giving Matt busy work and depression. The show is kind of shallow so I’m hoping getting some new supes into the mix will make things more interesting.
I agree with the villain problem. Hollywood writers just don’t seem to get bad guys. They make everyone a Byronic Hero. Everyone is grey. Now that Is realistic, but some bad guys just need to be evil. Super hero stuff is partially a moral fantasy where good is good and bad is bad. Where some villains are really grey, we do need some to be pure evil. Red Skull for instance. They just never give us really scary, unsettling villains.

Yeah, this episode spent way too much time on the flashbacks for my liking. I just wanted them to get on with the main story.
Personally felt like this episode was a bit of a filler. Lots of flashbacks explaining things we already understand about characters. 2 episodes in a row of Fisk yelling in anguish for the last scene. All the stuff with Matt and Bullseye was good. Overall I do feel like I’m still waiting for them to catch up with where last season left off, “I need to find some friends”. Ok, so do it! Not to sound super negative, I am enjoying the season, and the Bulleye “New York State of Mind” scene will be one of the most comic booky iconic things I’ve seen in any show. I’ve rewatched it literally like 15 times already. Once this storyline is done, we really need a break from Bullseye and Fisk, he has more villains than that guys. Let’s get weird with Mr Fear or Owl. Or just down and dirty with Gladiator or the Hand for an episode or something. Some crossover with Batroc or the “Serpent Society” from other movies would be pretty nice too.

I didnt hate Elodie as Elektra either, and thought she actually did a good job. However there are dozens of actresses out there who would’ve been more suited to the part. The producers should really just follow the template they have for the likes of Kingpin, Vanessa- make it as close to the comic as they can. Those two are nearly perfectly cast for their roles, and it feels as if the writers enjoy bringing them to life. I’d prefer Elektra to be played by Katrina Law,Adria Arjona,Eiza Gonzlez, or…Joanna Fyllidou(!)
Adria Would actually be fantastic as Elektra, good call, I actually think she probably would have been there choice had it been a different time, since She’s already tied in with Disney being in Star Wars, But totally would be pretty perfect for Elektra, Eiza could be really great as well.
