No probs bro. I’ve got a general idea due to the timing of Byrne’s run doing FF. Either way, now that I know there’s an old school precedence for his physical stature, and especially from one of my most fav artists of all time….I’m good with it, lol. Really excited now!
Same here! I sold my Black Bolt and Medusa a little over a year ago thinking they didn’t fit the quality of current figures and I didn’t purchase Karnak because I didn’t think they would ever complete the team, but seeing Crystal and Lockjaw made me start thinking maybe they would. All in now!

Anyone else getting concerned by the glut of stuff with January release dates? How much is coming early, and how much is gonna drop at once? I get they do this all the time, but it gets rough to keep up with when the overload us. I also don’t enjoy the figures as much when I get a ton at once.
Release dates have been wildly inaccurate all year. I wouldn’t take them too seriously. That doesn’t mean that everything won’t come at once, but the specific dates are just nonsense.
I just got the Jean/Cyclops two pack, for example, and it was slated to come AFTER the Rogue/Gambit two-pack, which hasn’t shipped.
These dates are just placeholders.

To be fair, alot of the time he is hunched over and his legs cause him to look smaller.

Not sureI Googled images after I saw how big he was going to be (thinking like you that he was too big). I am pretty excited about this set (and just picked up Karnak, Crystal, and Lockjaw).

I think of Gorgon as a big dude. Not sure if it’s a false memory or just the artists I saw draw him, but I have zero issue with the size of this figure. The handbook has him at 6′ 7″. He’s a must have and the Madusa is a nice update, although I woulda liked some more hair parts that could extend and wrap around people since that is what she does! But yeah, getting this one right away.

I just preordered Blackbolt. I will probably preorder Medusa. Which means I will need to pick up Crystal and Lockjaw. I know they are being put on clearance at Pulse. What’s the likelihood they end up at Ross/Ollies?I am hoping that the Strange Tales figures end up at Ollies too. I want Blackheart, but don’t really want to have to pay full MSRP for the others.

I just will say, I just saw Voodo in Amazon, another unnnessesary update, in less than 15 bucks … so for me this will be the type of BAF that will take me a year to complete between wait for crazy sales and buy loose pieces.
Solid wave for me was Nemesis, I wanted 5 of the figures and was able to find the sixth easily.
Yeah, I definitely see this one taking me awhile. I’ll definitely get those BAF pieces, but some of these will clearance out I’m sure at good prices.

Not sure about that….I definitely agree that they like stuff that can be re-used, and frankly I never have a problem with that. It makes sense- as long as they don’t take it too far (see mcfarlane’s stuff for examples). Thor’s got some big boys sure, but hasbo already put out Hyperion, a street Luke Cage, Thanos, Ka-Zar, not to mention the upcoming Gorgon. No reason those can’t be the basis for the likes of Hogun, Fandral, Baldur, etc. Volstagg isnt that hard either (Kingpin, Blob, Frogman, Doc Ock). Besides they eventually will do the Wrecking Crew….again, some pretty solid dudes. Just dont see tooling being an issue here.
Sure, they’ve done some big guys, but really, other than maybe some arms and legs, most of those parts aren’t set up for the unique costumes of the Asgardian characters. Obscurity I suppose is relative, but for whatever reason, Thor’s supporting cast seems to be too obscure for Hasbro most of the time. I’ll agree that new Gorgon and the other Inhumans items gives me some hope that Hasbro will let Asgardians be the next obscure releases they tackle. Volstagg particularly, I’d say doesn’t map well to any of the heavy guys they’ve tooled up so far, unless there’s an overlay for Kingpin in the works. As for the Wrecking Crew, wasn’t really thinking of them, they’re in a pretty manageable re-do position with the wide variety of larger character parts we’ve gotten so far.
