In the posters, we see the door for a private investigator, and the name B. Reilly. Thats short for Ben Reilly, a name familiar to Spider-Man fans as the clone of Peter Parker from the comics.
As per a press release from Sony and Prime Video accompanying the posters:
Spider-Noir is a live-action series based on the Marvel comic Spider-Man Noir. Spider-Noir tells the story of Ben Reilly, an aging and down on his luck private investigator in 1930s New York, who is forced to grapple with his past life as the citys one and only superhero.
The reason for the shift to Ben Riley from Peter Parker has not been reported, but it likely has to do with the complicated licensing around the character between multiple studios, and film and TV rights. But for now, we will just have to wait until next year to see if there is any greater significance to the shift when the series debuts. And much like the posters, the show will be available to watch in both color, or atmospheric black and white.
