Abomination doesn’t have fists? Wha….??
That is pretty much criminal. It’d be like a character with a two-handed ax not being given two grasping hands…..yep lookin at the Executioner there. I would have much preferred another grasping hand to the open hand. I really like that figure, but it is pretty glaring. And yes, Abomination needs fists guys. My only real saving grace with this figure is that I didn’t finish the baf. So I won’t feel.totally ripped off for a few heads and a paint job.

Why does the brown suit wolverine come with an extra neck and cowl down pieces? is there an unmasked head that wasn’t shown yet?

I was lookin at that for a good minute too. So they assume we have a few Jackman heads laying around. Personally, I don’t. I guess I can open my Headpool figure, but a snarling or angry face would be more useful there. It’s kinda funny since he wasn’t wearing the cowl in the movie. I’d rather have the masked head, but yeah, why give us that neck and down cowl?
To answer this they literally said in the presentation that there is an unmasked head from the previous figure. So yeah it sucks, because it essentially sounds like “Go buy this other figure if you want that.” I mean I already did when it came out. But as you pointed out? Many people don’t. Kind of goes back to the issue that @jscottt991and I were discussing where they have these unmasked heads and the files and don’t include them. Whether it’s to cut production costs, or avoid paying for the likeness again. (Or a combination of the two).
Fortunately…there are ways around this. If you are willing to pay for a custom head…
This head is about $20…unpainted. I paid about $50 for a custom Felicia Hardy Black Cat head. $30 or so for a Fahrul Maximum head. The custom head, the skin was a bit too light. I had to repaint the skin myself, but I didn’t want to mess up the mask. Used a liquid mask for the first time. (I later repainted the inside of the mask around her eyes as well. (Some people do not want to go to those lengths or expense, which is understandable). But it’s always an option for folks who do not have the other figure. And if they don’t like the idea of giving Hasbro more money to get a head that, for all intents and purposes, should have been included? Well, in going custom, you come out ‘a-head’.@since83 This guy is still readily available at $26. It’s the legacy Wolverine. Not sure if the head suits you, it is a younger-looking Jackman. But it is a snarling face.

I like this 2-pack. I don’t know that this Colossus will replace the one that came with Juggernaut, but definitely a good opportunity for others that may have missed out!
Yeah I don’t really have much of an Astonishing team, but I need a Colossus for my 90’s era team and I feel like you can fudge him and fit him in. I still need a more classic Jubilee. I got the 97 one but…the black bodysuit is not what I was hoping for. Her effect hands and head sculpt almost made it worth it alone. I still may try customizing her into something more…classic.

I know they have to pay something. What I meant was that it almost seems like they have pay each time they use it, not pay once and they have the likeness indefinitely or for some number of years. It’s weird they could do Jackman, for example, last year but not this year. It’s also clear that actors and actresses are becoming more protective of their likeness rights (probably to charge more). There are more holdouts than there used to be, particularly from MCU films. Strangely, though, this doesn’t seem to come up in Star Wars (although I will be curious about what happens with Mandalorian going forward since he’s kind of taken off in the last few years).
In short, I have been intrigued (in a bad way) by the lack of unmasked MCU heads lately. And I expect it to happen more often going forward.
Also, I didn’t quote correctly, but I would be shocked beyond belief if Cassandra and X-23 aren’t on clearance for like 50% off this time next year (or earlier).
I almost feel like it’s a timing thing. To your point? It does seem like they obtain the license for one figure, and it’s a one-time deal. So they aren’t paying a perpetual license for the likeness? I mean, we got Pedro Pascal as Reed. Kind of hard to do a Reed Richards figure for First Steps without an ‘unmasked’ head. Or a Bernthal Punisher. Heck, they must have got the license for Wesley’s likeness for Blade, or they would have glued his shades onto his face as they did with Jaimie Fox’s Electro. I suspect, like you say, they probably would have to pay each time they use it.
This is one that is a real headscratcher. They literally had the Andrew head already (Just like they do Jackman). So one would think they could just bundle it in. Is it to cut cost? Probably. But is it to cut the cost on manufacturing/production? I feel that the cost to produce these heads they already have files for, probably is marginal compared to the cost to license the likeness again? All speculation of course.
I like this 2-pack. I don’t know that this Colossus will replace the one that came with Juggernaut, but definitely a good opportunity for others that may have missed out!
As far as reveals go, definitely a solid line up. The standouts to me are the Ghostrider and the Kitty Pryde. Tempted to pick up Abomination as well, although it’s giving me heavy kitbash vibes, still a cool looking head sculpt.

So we waited half a decade to finally get a new comic book-based Abomination that is, in a nutshell, a new head on the old Gamerverse body? Dont get me wrong, it was a great figure for a time and still looks great, but if they made us wait 5 years for a reissue with a new head, they could at the very least give the figure pinless legs. Now, if they released this exact figure two years after the BAF, I would have been way more understanding and not even critical.

Sorry, THAT’S Grizzly? I thought Grizzly was red. And part of Cable’s Six Pack?
No no no, your assumption is correct, Grizzly is red and part of Cable’s Six Pack, but he is also this guy. 2 characters same alias name. I would be ecstatic if Hasbro finally came around to doing that squad with Kane and G.W Bridge, and I have a strong feeling that is not coming ANY time soon. They haven’t even made a cable in that look, which tells us all we need to know.

Also, MCU Blade before Gambit or Elektra? For shame!
Ok, so That’s my problem! People were talking about Grizzly as the owner of the rocket launcher, and I was like, “huh?” Cause to me, this is Grizzly. I would have actually preferred a little slimed down version, but this is what he looked like in the Ant Man series.
