Beaming with pride and something to say is Season 3 of Alma’s Way! Starting Jan. 19, Fred Rogers Productions and PBS Kids will bring new episodes featuring Black cowboy culture, creative “crowns,” and classic New York City foods.
Kicking off Season 3 is “Cowboy Howard.” Families can first saddle up with Alma and Howard as they explore the Bronx in search of a Black cowboy. This animated short teaches young viewers about the cultural significance of Black cowboys in American history. Kids will then watch “Junior’s Hair Salon” to see Alma and Junior set up a play salon for their friends. This cartoon will show kids how hair is a form of self-expression, and that everyone’s “crowns” come in different textures, types, and styles.
Following the Season 3 debut, families can watch new episodes on Jan. 20 and Jan. 21. First up is “Best Food Truck in the Bronx”/ “Howard’s Hamburgers,” which explores different foods through a food truck festival and a backyard restaurant. Kids can also learn how to overcome conflicts by watching “World’s Greatest Playdate” / “What Alma Wants.”
Families can watch these new episodes starting Jan. 19 on PBS Kids or stream the series for free via the PBS Kids app.
