It’s Wednesday and you know what that means: ToyFarce review!
This week, we’re having a look at the Marvel Legends Maximum Series Deadpool from Hasbro! The final review of the year! I had a few more holiday seasons things planned before the end of the year, but since they haven’t been delivered yet (holiday chaos), so we’ll take a break and have a Deadpool kind of New Year’s Eve!
The Marvel Legends Maximum Series Deadpool comes with a ton of accessories: 2 head sculpts (normal and half unmasked), 5 pairs of hands, 2 katanas, a knife, 2 guns, one blaster, one machine gun, one heavy machine gun, 3 firing effects for the machine guns, a stick of dynamite, a chimichanga (never leave home without it!), a figure of Doop with a stand… and a partridge in a pear tree!
“Hi, I’m Deadpool. You may recognize me from all the movies and comics in the last few decades.“
“You see, usually, I am allowed to have firearms, but I can at least have finger guns…“
“Wait a minute, this has never happened before… HOLY F**K! I can have guns again?!“
“There’s so many people I gotta shoot now!!“
“I have my trusty katanas too! Wait… those aren’t my katanas, those are for shish kebabs!“
“Hold on, it’s Chimichanga time!“
“Is there something stuck between my teeth?“
“Oh my god, it’s Doop!“
“Intense badass pose time! RATTATATTATATTATATA!“
The Deadpool figure itself looks pretty great, I didn’t have a definitive comic book Deadpool figure, so this will do just fine. It reminds me of the Pepe Larraz design, or some of the 2000/2010 comic books. It is however, not without any issues: It has great articulations, except for the shoulders. The butterly moves nicely, but the shoulder joint itself seems to be very stiff (at least on mine, even after heating it up for a bit) and since the biceps are a bit gummy, moving his arms was sometimes a bit of a delicate operation (holding the shoulder to move it instead of the arm,…). The katanas are a bit too short also. Still, it’s nice that he came with a few firearms, at least! What would be Deadpool without firearms, right? (and we did get a few…).
“Look at us, a couple of Maximum Effort figures… “
“And remember kids, as I was saying, it’s important to… huh?“
“Oh my god! It’s the real 2002 Action Figure of the Year Marvel Legend’s the Hood! Can I have your autograph?“
“Thank you, Mr Hood! I’m a huge fan! I left something for you on your cape!“
“You fell for the oldest trick! The dynamite stick attached to your back! L-O-L!“
More news at 11:00… Maximum Effort incoming!
