Kids in the deaf community can see themselves in Peppa Pig with the latest news from Hasbro. In Season 11, families will watch a new storyline revealing how Peppa’s younger brother, George, is moderately deaf.

Families will see an accurate representation throughout the series as Hasbro works with the National Deaf Children’s Society, which contributes guidance on the portrayal of deafness. The Peppa Pig series also has support from Camilla Arnold, a deaf executive producer and script consultant. With Hasbro’s partnership with the Hearing Loss Association of America, families can also expect new initiatives that promote hearing health and representation.

In Season 11, airing on March 23 on Nickelodeon, George’s diagnosis will premiere in the episode “Hearing Test.” In this episode, Peppa’s family learns about his deafness, and George is fitted with a hearing aid. Throughout the series, kids will watch him discover new noises and say Peppa’s name for the very first time.

George’s story will also feature on the Peppa Pig Tales YouTube Channel. Starting Feb. 6, families can see the events leading to George’s diagnosis, including an episode told from his audio perspective. Hasbro will also offer new resources on the Peppa Pig Muddy Puddle Parenting channel and bring interpreted episodes via the Peppa Pig Sign Language for Kids channel.
