Action Figures And Their Impact On Our Culture Highlighted In NFL Super Bowl Commercial
Last night during the Super Bowl one commercial that stood out to me was one produced by the NFL titled “Champion”. In the commercial we see a young kid who is inspired not only by his little league football coach, but also by a room filled with toys including quit a few action figures from companies such as Hasbro, Disney, Mattel and Funko.

Now honestly the kids room strikes me as more as a room you might see a boy this age have in the 80s rather than today featuring the likes of Optimus Prime, various Marvel comic book characters, Skeletor and even a G.I. Joe Classified Cobra Commander.

I’m not going to lie, while inspiring, this commercial was also much about product placement for marketing purposes. Besides that however it also highlights at least in my opinion the impact action figures and these iconic brands most of us who were kids in the 80’s grew up on and the impact on our culture they continue to have even today. Honestly I don’t know if the kid was more inspired by his coach or the action figures he is seen talking to during the commercial. If you missed the commercial last night during the game then you can check it out on Youtube now.
