After 30 years of catching them all, Pokémon Trainers are ready to see what the future of the franchise will be. Today, known as Pokémon Day, families got a glimpse of new games, characters, events, and more during Pokémon Presents.
Kids and kids-at-heart can add a new Game Boy-style juke box to their collection, which comes with 45 music cartridges made to look like the original Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue cartridges. Each one has a song based on the location or part in the game (shown by the screen on one side). Kids can pop in the cartridge, flip the switch, and jam out to their favorite classic tunes from the very first time Trainers made their way through Kanto in 1996. The Pokémon Red & Pokémon Blue Game Music Collection: Game Boy Jukebox will be available to purchase at the Pokémon Center online store.

Key art for this year’s Pokémon World Championships and Pokémon XP events was also revealed. Both events will take place in San Francisco later this year, so West Coast trainers and their families will have front-row seats to all the action. Trainers can register for the multi-day interest list from April 2-23 and register their attendee interest for single-day passes beginning early this summer. In the meantime, trainers can check out the latest event updates at pokemonxp.com/en-us.

A new Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) expansion was teased, with more details to be revealed at later date. The official art features Mew and Mewtwo, so collectors of all ages should keep an eye out for additional information.
It’s not Pokémon Day without The Pokémon Co. revealing new games and missions.
Pokémon GO will feature a two-day Kalos Tour beginning Feb. 28- March 1, where Trainers can redeem the code “GOTOURKALOS” and choose which Kalos starter they encounter during a special Timed Research. There will also be a two-day anniversary event from March 7-9, where many Pokémon will return to the game’s overworld. Starting tonight, Pokémon Sleep players will be able to begin a series of missions to encounter Mew for the first time, so make sure you get to log in before calling it a night.
In Pokémon Unite, the Kanto region’s legendary birds — Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres — will make their grand debut. Pokémon Café Remix players can find a special roundup of all the Starter Pokémon, as well as 30th anniversary-themed in-game decorations, beginning Feb. 28, with the first roundup wave featuring the Kanto starters. Fans of Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness can now play the GameCube title on their Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, available to purchase on the Nintendo e-Shop.
In Pokémon Legends: Z-A, families who have the Mega Dimensions DLC can claim a special Mystery Gift to get the Mega Stone needed to evolve Garchomp into Mega Garchomp Z, as well as encounter the Pokémon in a Hyper Space Distortion.
For kids who are battle-ready and waiting on Pokémon Champions, the wait is almost over! The game is set to launch on the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 systems this April, with the mobile version coming later this year. Kids and their families will be able to battle each other across their Nintendo Switch consoles and mobile devices.
Additionally, Pokémon Pokopia will launch March 5. In this game, kids can cook delicious treats for their Pokémon with Chef Dente, collect CDs and share them with DJ Rotom, and visit each other’s islands for co-op and online play. With mining, building, and exploration at the forefront of this title, kids will have plenty to do with their Pokémon friends.
If your little Trainer is still looking for more, they can start preparing for the upcoming Generation 10 titles, Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves. Kids will be able to pick their favorite starter Pokémon from the Grass-Type chick Browt, the Fire-Type puppy Pombon, and the Water-Type gecko Gecqua, and meet the special Pikachus, Mr. Windychu and Ms. Wavychu, on their adventures. The game appears to be set in a massive tropical region, with a variety of biomes for players to explore. Parents and caregivers can learn more about the games by visiting pokemon.com/windswaves.
Now the toughest question for kids and kids at heart is deciding which of the new Starter Pokémon to take along on their latest adventure. To watch the full Pokémon Presents, visit youtube.com.
