Josh DAmaro Named Next CEO of The Walt Disney Company

The Walt Disney Company Board of Directors announced today that Josh D�Amaro, Chairman of Disney Experiences, has been unanimously elected as the company�s next Chief Executive Officer. He will officially take on the role at the Annual Meeting scheduled for March 18, 2026, succeeding longtime CEO Robert A. Iger. Following the meeting, the Board also plans to appoint D�Amaro as a director. D�Amaro, who has worked at Disney for 28 years, currently leads Disney’s largest business segment�Disney Experiences�which generates $36 billion in annual revenue and employs 185,000 Cast Members and staff worldwide. He is credited with overseeing the most significant global expansion in the history of Disney Experiences and achieving high marks financially, creatively, and in guest satisfaction.

Bob Iger will remain Senior Advisor and sit on the Disney Board until his retirement on December 31, 2026. Since returning in 2022, Iger swiftly reorganized the company and set four major priorities: improving the quality and financial performance of the film studios, maintaining streaming profitability, making ESPN the top digital hub for sports fans, and accelerating growth for Disney Experiences.

Alongside D�Amaro�s appointment, Dana Walden, Co-Chairman of Disney Entertainment, will become President and Chief Creative Officer of The Walt Disney Company beginning March 18. Walden has overseen Disney�s entertainment media, news, content businesses, and streaming platforms globally. In her new position�a first for the company�she will report directly to D�Amaro.
