I just pre-ordered my Deathbird 2 pack. She looks great, imo. Very menacing. I have been wanting this character for a long time.
Immediately ordered this…though I would have much preferred a classic version…this is the Jim Lee version so I had to have it!
Now where is D’Ken,Eric the Red, Starbolt,Oracle,Hussar and Warstar? I wouldn’t mind some new Brood warrior army builders as well!

I ended up passing on Deathbird. The tubes look really bad and paying 57.99 for one figure I only kind of like is just too much. I have no confidence I would recoup anything from her boxmate.
I hear that! I think they once again, did themselves and the collectors a disservice, by cheaping out with Gladiator. The additional head is great, but that cape is just too stiff, it impedes the articulation. Soft goods would have been better. But even keeping the plasitc cape, they could have done better with the gloves and boots. Just painting them on makes the figure look cheap, second hand. Beyond that, its a nice two pack.
Am I the ONLY one who is clamoring for a D’ken and M’kraan crystal??? I always hear Raza and Hepzibah (which don’t get me wrong I’ve been waiting like everyone else), but D’ken… Anyone? ANYONE????

Atlantis, I feel like you and I have had this same (friendly) disagreement in the past, but I’m always surprised when we get a character for the very first time after 20+ years and anyone says that they expect we’ll get a different version again anytime soon. If it took them more than 20 years to get to her once, I don’t have any confidence that there will EVER be another version. I certainly could be wrong, but that’s my take.
Understood. But it took almost 20 years from the Toybiz classic Dr. Strange to the Hasbro Walmutt release (2021), then about 3 years later they did a classic variant (better chest insignia) for the Dr. Strange/Wong 2 pack. Then there’s Ultron, who finally got a classic comic look figure in 2021, then they released another version (duller paint I think) in 2023. There are some others that come to mind, but I’m not seeing that a figure that took 20 years to show, will just never get another bite at the apple. The reason why I think Deathbird will show is she is, not only is she X-Men adjacent (and we KNOW how they love the X-Men), there’s also a Starjammers connect there. Only 2 more of that team need to be done, so including her on that would help fill out that wave.
Anyway…fingers crossed?
Had to have Deathbird, and in all honesty this is the version of her I prefer, hey don’t get me wrong if they ever did a classic version I’d be all over that as well, but I always liked the sorta H.R. Giger/David Lynch Dune influenced outfit she’s rocking here. I could be fine without a Gladiator despite this looking better, but essentially I’m willing to be that sucker who pays 80 bucks for a Deathbird. I know I’m part of a larger problem.

I’d say, a first appearance Deathbird is coming….but when/how is the question. I’d place in her in a Captain Mar-Vell/ Ms. Marvel themed wave, but frankly that would make too much sense. But if she’s done right, they could put her in a totally unrelated wave and I wouldnt care. The key thing is, WILL they do her correctly?

Insta ordered this. Despite my whining about the wings. Need a Deathbird and I was never super thrilled with that Gladiator, although I woulda preferred an Oracle figure or some other Royal Guard Member.
