The new Mafia franchise game, under the name of Mafia: The Old Country, will be officially released on August 8, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S | x.
The game was developed by Hangar 13, being focused on the origin of the mafia, with classic gameplay elements such as riders and old weapons.
However, even before Mafia: The Old Country is released, it seems that the Hangar 13 is already planning the next mafia, although exact details are unknown.
The developer is already working on another Mafia franchise game, as indicated by a job for the main designer on the company’s career site.
“Create new archetypes that fit the view of a Mafia franchise game, from creative and technical design prototypes to enemies’ behaviors and skills”says the job vacancy.
It is unclear whether it will be a remake of Mafia 2 or a new entrance, but the project suggests a larger budget or alignment with current trends.
Anyway, we must first wait for the release of Mafia: The Old Country to see if the game will succeed.
