Elmo is embarking on a wild new adventure this fall! To kick off the 45th season of Nature, PBS is teaming up with Sesame Workshop to take the puppet pals on their first-ever safari.

Premiering Oct. 14, the first episode of the natural history series’ new season stars Elmo, Abby, and Nina in “Sesame Street and the Great Elephant Adventure.” In this episode, the gang adopts a baby elephant online and travels to The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya to meet her and her keepers. Throughout their journey, the puppets will take families on an expedition through the African bush, discovering new animal friends, exploring the environment, and learning about the importance of kindness and conservation. The episode will air on both PBS and PBS Kids.

There’s even more to educational adventures to look forward to throughout the rest of the season! The following two episodes will introduce families to the incredible story of Dr. Jane Goodall and her life-changing research on chimpanzees. Other upcoming episodes include documentaries on the American Amazon, tigers, pangolins, and wolverines, as well as “Wild London with David Attenborough,” which explores how wildlife adapts to thrive in bustling cities.

Season 45 of Nature will begin airing on PBS on Oct. 14, with new episodes each Wednesday. The series will also be available to stream on all PBS platforms, including pbs.org and the PBS App, with select episodes available on the Nature YouTube channel.
