While DC fans are already well aware of the upcoming character lineups heading to retail shelves, we just got a brand-new look at how these toys will actually present themselves in stores. Prominent UK-based collectible retailer InDemand Toys took to Facebook to share a gallery of new packaging images from the highly anticipated Mattel Core DC toy line. Accompanied by the caption, “Here is some new packaging images from Mattel’s Core DC line! These are looking great!”, the images provide collectors with a complete look at the final retail box designs, graphics, and multi-pack configurations.
The newly surfaced packaging designs lean heavily into classic Gotham City comic book aesthetics. Featuring bold, character-specific box art, collector-friendly window displays, and stylized backdrops, Mattel is clearly aiming to make each Mattel Core DC action figure multi-pack pop on store shelves.
A Closer Look at the New Packaging Designs
The images shared by InDemand Toys highlight three distinct multi-pack configurations. They showcase a variety of box sizes, sub-line branding, and graphic layouts.
The Deluxe “Try Me” Batman vs. Clayface Box
The first image details the deluxe versus pack packaging for “Batman vs. Clayface”. Because this set features a heavy-hitting deluxe villain, the box is noticeably deeper and taller.
Mattel has integrated an interactive “Try Me” circular cutout window on the lower right portion of the front packaging. This allows shoppers to test the physical jaw-chomping action mechanism on the massive, mud-sculpted Clayface figure without needing to the item. The background insert features a dark Gotham City alley grid look.
You can currently pre-order this set from Entertainment Earth for $30.99. It has a November 2026 release date.
The Batman & Nightwing vs. Bane “Showdown” Packaging
The second image highlights the “Batman & Nightwing vs. Bane” multi-pack. The packaging layout here shifts away from standard borders. It instead utilizes a dramatic, cracked brick wall visual aesthetic along the outer cardboard. This design effectively frames the window to look like an intense physical clash is bursting directly out of the box.
The figures inside are posed dynamically within the clear blister tray, with the classic blue-and-grey Batman and blue-striped Nightwing flanking a massive, venom-powered Bane clad in his classic white-and-black luchador mask.
The “Watchful Protectors” 3-Pack Box Art
The final image gives us a look at the “Watchful Protectors” stylized window box. The package features a dark blue, comic-panel-inspired border that perfectly frames the three included figures.
The bottom section of the window box is lined with bright, stylized comic art character portraits paired with bold typography naming the characters inside: Batman, Man-Bat, and Nightwing. This presentation makes it incredibly easy for fans to appreciate the distinct variants included.
You can currently pre-order this set from Entertainment Earth for $42.99. It has a release date of September 2026.
Retail Expectations
The finalized nature of these printed boxes indicates that the production run is moving right along smoothly. While the figures themselves aren’t news to seasoned collectors, seeing the final retail presentation always brings us one step closer to the actual release. These Mattel Core DC action figure sets are expected to land at major retail channels and online specialty shops worldwide in late 2026 or early 2027.
