The countdown to the 2026 FIFA World Cup is on, and the Children’s Museum of Manhattan (CMOM) is giving kids a front-row seat to the fun.
As the tournament kicks off this June, CMOM is inviting little soccer fans and their families to celebrate with six weeks of action-packed programming. From crafts and activities to meeting the mascots, these events inspire kids to gear up for the big game while learning about teamwork, exploring their creativity, and discovering cultures and traditions from around the world. Tickets to the museum are available now on CMOM’s website.
From June 2-7, kids can have a ball crafting mini soccer fields and team banners, or design their own World Cup superhero with real comic book artists. After, grab your dancing shoes and head to the 1st floor for an interactive live performance from the Calpulli Mexican Dance Company. During the show, the dancers will teach families the steps to centuries of traditional Mexican dances, from the indigenous dances of the little old men to the world-famous El jarabe tapatío.
The following week, June 9-14, CMOM will introduce kids to this year’s World Cup mascots with finger puppets, collages, and other activities, while the West Side Soccer League hosts soccer drills and indoor match-ups for soccer stars of all skill levels.

The final countdown kicks off July 13 with outdoor water parties, sporty crafts, and a musical performance by jazz vocalist Olivia Chindamo, all building to the World Cup Final on July 19 at the New York New Jersey Stadium. Kids can get hype before the game with a puppet show from Puppetsburg, starring the lovable Arlo the Awkward Giraffe on a World Cup adventure, the perfect send-off for a summer of soccer.
All of these events and more are included with your admission to CMOM — no separate tickets required! For a full schedule of events and to secure your museum passes, visit cmom.org.
