It’s time to get up, dance, and stay healthy with Elmo, Grover, and all their friends!
Sesame Workshop and Abbott, a global healthcare company, are launching a new Sesame Street special and resource guides to inspire kids to stay active. The 27-minute special, titled “Elmo’s World: Dance Party!”, features Elmo and his friends as they prepare for a dance party with their loveys. Award-winning actress Aubrey Plaza steps into the role of Ms. Noodle, Mr. Noodle’s sister, and teaches kids about the fun of freestyle dancing alongside the Sesame Street team.
The special encourages kids to get up and join in on the party as Elmo directs kids to put their loveys somewhere safe and clap. When Elmo finds that he’s having a hard time thinking of other dance moves to add in, his friends join in and help him figure out other moves to keep the party going. The special combines dancing fun with lessons about taking care of yourself, advising little ones on how to take appropriate breaks and rest during long periods of movement.
In addition to the dance special, Sesame Workshop has released tips and resources on how to help kids incorporate healthy habits into their everyday routines. Parents and caregivers can find storybooks, worksheets, articles, and more at sesame.org/healthyhabits.
Families in the U.S. can watch the new special and get grooving now on the Sesame Street YouTube channel.
