All aboard for freight-train fun! After debuting Thomas the Tank Engine’s fresh new look last month, Mattel is going full steam ahead with redesigned train tracks that’ll make little conductors go loco-motive.
With the new Easy Connect Track System, preschoolers can design, build, and chug into Thomas & Friends adventures — all without the help of a grown-up! The pieces fit together with simple, intuitive snaps, perfect for little hands, while the auto-rerail technology keeps every train on track. To top it all off, the system also introduces magnetic couplers to its die-cast and motorized engines, so kids can spend less time fussing with cargo and more time playing with their favorite characters.
The redesigned tracks will officially launch this fall with the Thomas & Friends Exploring Tidmouth Sheds Train Set. This playset recreates the iconic railway station, complete with interactive features such as a gate and drawbridge, a train-activated windmill, and a spinning turntable. And the best part? All the tracks are fully compatible with other Easy Connect pieces, allowing kids to create their own Thomas & Friends stories.
Alongside the playset, kids can also collect a variety of die-cast trains, including fan-favorite freighters like Thomas, Percy, Diesel, and Rosie. Available as both regular push-alongs and as deluxe duo packs, these magnetic engines encourage kids to charge full steam ahead into curiosity, creativity, and independence.
The Thomas & Friends Easy Connect Track System will debut this fall, with more products on the way throughout the year. For more information about the playsets and Thomas’s new look, visit mattel.com.
