Thrilljoy introduces new She-Ra vinyl figures, while McFarlane Toys revamps Mortal Kombat line and Hot Toys unveils impressive Sentinel figure.
The action figures landscape this week sees a standout moment for She-Ra fans, with new offerings from Brian Mariotti’s Thrilljoy vinyl collectibles catching attention. These releases come amidst some other notable industry movements including McFarlane Toys’ expansion of its Mortal Kombat line and the unveiling of an imposing Sentinel figure by Hot Toys.
She-Ra Vinyl Collectibles Make Waves
Former Funko CEO Brian Mariotti’s new venture, Thrilljoy, is making waves with its debut blind box series, PIXL, which includes several new She-Ra designs. As She’s Fantastic notes, the playful, cartoony aesthetic of She-Ra in this series fills a gap not often addressed by other collectible lines dominated by figures of He-Man. The inclusion of a limited edition (LE 6000) She-Ra chase figure adds an enticing rarity to the collection, as discussed further by She’s Fantastic. These figures arrive in the midst of reflection on missed opportunities during She-Ra’s 40th anniversary, providing fans with new, dynamic pieces to celebrate the enduring appeal of the Princess of Power.
McFarlane Expands Mortal Kombat Klassics
Meanwhile, McFarlane Toys captures the interest of fighting game enthusiasts with the launch of additional items in their Mortal Kombat Klassics figure line. According to Toyark, fans can expect new single figure releases and engaging two-packs featuring iconic characters such as Baraka, Jax, Shang Tsung, and Kung Lao. Keeping these releases structured by classic character designs resonates with collectors who appreciate the vintage aesthetic of Mortal Kombat.
Hot Toys Unveils Massive Sentinel Figure
Not to be overshadowed, Hot Toys has announced a massive addition to their roster with the Avengers: Doomsday – Sentinel Jumbo Sofvi Figure. Standing over 23.6 inches tall, and paired with a scaled Doctor Doom figure, this release, covered by Toyark, promises collectors an impressive display piece with significant detail and articulation. It’s a robust offering that echoes the grandeur expected from such iconic Marvel premises.
While the industry presents these diverse new releases, anticipation also builds around how collectors will engage with these items. With She-Ra receiving a vibrant and fresh treatment from Thrilljoy, classic Mortal Kombat fighters revisited by McFarlane Toys, and Hot Toys’ impressive scale with their Sentinel figure, enthusiasts have plenty to consider adding to their collections.
