Marvel Legends Avengers Doomsday Wave 2 revealed at NYCC 2026, featuring movie and comic-inspired figures.
Marvel Legends enthusiasts have much to celebrate following the New York Comic Con 2026, where Hasbro showcased a significant addition to their collection with the reveal of the Avengers Doomsday Wave 2 figures. This latest wave includes fan-favorite characters such as Beast, Nightcrawler, and a concept art-based Lord Doom. The figures are now available for pre-order with a retail price of $29.99 and are slated for shipment in April 2027. Both Marvel Toy News and Toyark reported that the highlight of the set is the movie Beast figure, featuring a likeness of Kelsey Grammer’s portrayal that is impressively detailed, potentially marking its final manufacturing by Hasbro.
In vintage action figure news, Super7 continues to revive nostalgia with the expansion of their G.I.Joe Glow Patrol line. The Glow Patrol faction, initially released as limited exclusives, has seen the addition of six new figures in the O-Ring Reaction+ format, unveiled recently at San Diego Comic-Con. This expansion harks back to the 1980s era of glow-in-the-dark toy gimmicks and continues to delight collectors with its retro appeal, as discussed by She’s Fantastic.
In horror-themed collectibles, Action Figure Barbecue highlighted a new set of figures for fans of the slasher genre. Plastic Meatball released a retro-styled 1/18th scale Michael Myers and Jamie Lloyd set from “Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers”. These figures aim to encapsulate the aesthetic of early 1980s action figures with their simple, nostalgic articulation reminiscent of vintage Kenner toys.
Shifting to other licenses, Toyark also reported on the launch of a new S.H. MonsterArts figure of Keizer Ghidorah, from “Godzilla: Final Wars”. Known for their high-quality sculpts and articulation, Tamashii Nations adds this fearsome foe of Godzilla to their lineup, appealing to both fans of the franchise and collectors of detailed kaiju figures.
Harvey Comics enthusiasts find renewed interest as Funko introduces a Kat Harvey figure from the 1995 “Casper” movie, available exclusively at Five Below. Although not about groundbreaking new mechanisms or articulation, this release taps into childhood nostalgia for those who grew up with the friendly ghost, referenced by She’s Fantastic.
Lastly, although more of a toy collaboration than pure action figures, Mattel created a “Wolf Man” Drift Rod for their Hot Wheels Silver Series Universal Monsters collection, adding a whimsical touch to the classic monster with a collector’s twist, as detailed by Action Figure Barbecue.
