A trio of new G.I. Joe Classified figures and thrilling Halloween-themed releases lead this week's action figure news.
This week’s action figure scene is dominated by significant expansions in the G.I. Joe Classified series. Hasbro keeps its pulse on collector demands with new additions that dive deep into both fan nostalgia and character lore.
G.I. Joe Classified Series Unveils
The string of G.I. Joe Classified reveals kicks off with the introduction of a new character, Dreadnok Flatline, as highlighted by HissTank. This figure captures the spirit of the Dreadnok lifestyle with quirky add-ons like a chainsaw and a humorous surgery for dummies book, staying true to the franchise’s playful yet rugged aesthetic. Notably, Flatline’s backstory as a former veterinarian adds an unusual twist that collectors might find intriguing.
Continuing the surge in new figures, the Steel Corps Trooper emerges as a nod to the Customized G.I. Joe experience, reminiscent of the classic mail-away exclusives. These personalized options harken back to childhood memories of customizing figures, a point that could spark interest among long-time fans.
Next, the Python Patrol Vypra figure brings back the vibrant and campy camouflage patterns that were emblematic of late-80s G.I. Joe figures. This revival of nostalgic paint designs may appeal to collectors who appreciate the blend of traditional aesthetics with modern figure technology.
Halloween-Themed Releases
As Halloween approaches, spooky collectibles are drawing attention. Plastic Meatball has released figures from “Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers” featuring Michael Myers and Jamie Lloyd, as reported by ActionFigureBarbecue. These figures are part of their ’31 Days of Toy Terror’ event, designed to enthuse horror fans. The figures come with well-crafted accessories, adding to their display appeal despite the relatively simple articulation typical of vintage figures.
Murmurs of Valaverse Action
The final noteworthy development comes from Valaverse, which has unveiled “Jester” in their Action Force line. As detailed by Action Figure Barbecue, the company’s offerings have been sparse recently, but this release might indicate a ramping up of activity, potentially capturing the interest of contemporary collectors with a penchant for unique military themes distinct from the usual G.I. Joe territory.
This week’s lineup suggests a blend of nostalgic throwbacks and fresh takes meant to appeal to the hardcore collector community. As the G.I. Joe universe continues to evolve with additions that build on its storied history, alongside Halloween-themed collections and intriguing entries from smaller firms like Valaverse, collectors have plenty to look forward to this month.
